5 Reasons to Get Your Home Organized Today

5 Reasons to Org

Let’s jump right in and count the reasons to get your home organized. I know it can be overwhelming, but if you have a room, a drawer, or a closet that causes you to feel anxious, upset, or overwhelmed, then this is your motivation.

FREE yourself from STRESS:

Studies have shown that your environment can cause you stress. Sometimes, you may be aware and other times you may not be aware how your environment is affecting you. Your living space is a place that should be safe, it should reflect you, and allow you to feel relaxed. If there is a space or a room that is causing you stress or any negative feelings…change it. No excuses. Change it. I speak from personal experience that my stress/anxiety levels are tied to my environment. Your mental health and those around you will thank you for making these changes.

Your Family Needs You:

Your family and friends rely on you. In order to care for others, you need to care for yourself. Having a clean and organized space that does not cause you stress and overwhelm will allow you to be more aware and present with those that you love. It will free you from weekends or days off of trying to play “catch up” and allow you to truly spend quality time with your friends and family.

Get Places on Time:

When you do not have an organized home, it can make it more difficult to get out of the door on time. Speaking from experience, if I can not find my clothes for work or cannot find everything I need for the diaper bag, I will be frazzled. The more frazzled I become, the more likely it will be that I will be late and my day will start stressful. Having everything in place will allow you more time to start my day in a blessed place. In turn it will allow me to time to prepare my children and husband for their days in a positive way. STOP the morning scramble.

Stop WASTING Time:

Studies show and I am sure you have personally experienced this, that you waste countless hours (yes, hours) of time looking for misplaced items. Think about the amount of time you search for your remotes, your phone, your keys, or your daughter’s favorite stuffed buddy. Are you still counting? Yes, the time adds up. Get that time back!

Reduce HOUSEWORK:

Who loves housework? You probably do not necessarily love housework, right? Maybe you do not hate it. That is okay. It is an outlet for me to relieve my stress. But I have never met someone in their later years in life that have told me that they wished they had more time to clean. They don’t. People want more time to spend with their family. By keeping an organized space and maintaining your home, you will find that you actually have less housework. Clutter causes more housework.

If you have a clean, organized environment you will feel more productive, less stressed, and have more TIME! Yes, more TIME. It is important to you, to your family. I know it is overwhelming and getting started can get hard. I do promise that you will reap these benefits and more once you meet this goal. You may have a long weekend. Do not spend it stressed, get motivated and start the process. Give me a call if you need a little motivation or guidance on where to start. I am here to help you conquer your goals.

I am a hardworking, full-time mother of two beautiful children under the age of two. When I became a mother for the first time almost 2 years ago, I changed greatly. Being a mother is one of the most amazing roles and I am grateful for the blessing. It is also one of the most challenging jobs, whether you are a working mother or a stay at home mom. Working through postpartum depression, I determined that the challenges of motherhood and life seemed to be overshadowing the many joys of motherhood. With much research, I found that the same words continued to pop up: intentional, purposeful, and mindful. This led me to start thinking about how I can be more intentional, purposeful, and mindful in all aspects in my life. The thought is really profound and overwhelming because it could be a major change for my family. I believe in this change and I am jumping into this journey with the great support of my husband. Here I am blogging about my journey. Please join me!
