Before becoming a mother, my car was really always fairly clean. I recall getting into other individual’s cars that had children and wondering how their car got so messy.  Well fast forward a bit, two children later, and now I was looking at my own messy car. There were goldfish crackers, toys, clothes, empty bottles, etc. You name it, I feel like it never left my car. I felt like my car was a place that items went to get buried and forgot about. It was actually embarrassing to have someone see my car. It was also a STRUGGLE to sometimes get groceries in my car. UGH! If you have been following me, you will know that you clutter really starts to affect my mental health and I want to live more intentionally.

So, how did I conquer this problem. First I removed everything from the car. Literally EVERYTHING. Anything that did not belong or was not needed was removed. What needed to stay in the car remained in the grass until I added my car organizers.

What are car organizers? Well, I am glad that you asked.

If you have an SUV or Van, you need something to organize the trunk.

Now, this little baby is easy to install. What do I store in this you ask?

I like to keep cleaning supplies, windshield wiper fluid, oil, extra diapers, extra wipes, medication, sun screen, and bug spray in this little organizer. It is comes in handy when you forget something or need to clean up the car. Plus, all of this is off the ground and all kept in one handy place.

Another organizer you may need is one that attaches to the back of the front seats. This comes in handy for kids toys, books, snacks, tissues, an IPad or DVD player, cups, etc. Bonus it also serves as a kick mat for dirty little feet.

Another thing that you need in your car is a garbage can.  This one is great because it attaches to the console in your car and does not tip over. It won’t spill. And it is water proof…no leaks! It can be attached to the door or the back of the seat as well. So it is versatile.

Apart from these organization secrets, make sure you keep snacks, medications, tissues/napkins, cleaning supplies, jumper cables or a starter kit, umbrella, and anything you may need for car maintenance. In cold weather, make sure you have blankets and a scraper for those windows.

Your car will thank you! This small step will save you time and money. It will give you a little piece, especially if you are in the season of life where you are in the car frequently or gearing up for a summer road trip.

I am a hardworking, full-time mother of two beautiful children under the age of two. When I became a mother for the first time almost 2 years ago, I changed greatly. Being a mother is one of the most amazing roles and I am grateful for the blessing. It is also one of the most challenging jobs, whether you are a working mother or a stay at home mom. Working through postpartum depression, I determined that the challenges of motherhood and life seemed to be overshadowing the many joys of motherhood. With much research, I found that the same words continued to pop up: intentional, purposeful, and mindful. This led me to start thinking about how I can be more intentional, purposeful, and mindful in all aspects in my life. The thought is really profound and overwhelming because it could be a major change for my family. I believe in this change and I am jumping into this journey with the great support of my husband. Here I am blogging about my journey. Please join me!
